In case of emergency lockout please don't fall for the minimum charge quote. If you call a locksmith company and the person on the phone tells you it's service call $15 and minimum $35, to open the lock, you would think that it would be $50 but it almost always tripple if not more then tripple when they arrive. Once they are there you have no choice because you just waited at least 45 minutes and you don't want to send this guy away, so what do you do you suck it up and charge it to you'r visa. Whenever you call a locksmith describe exactly what the problem is and at least get an exact price on opening the lock. when you have gotten in then you can decide on the lock. I have heard a lot about the minimum charge issue that is done by some locksmiths. I think that it can easily be avoided by just asking for the total cost of everything after the door have been unlocked. This will save people a lot of hassle with these hidden fees.
